My summer in Seattle ended well. I was able to finish the project that I had been working on and I made it through the class that I had been taking. I learned a lot over the summer about software design, C programming, and potential career choices. Overall, it was a great summer.

I had about four days of downtime between my flight home and the start of the fall semester, so I decided to have some fun. I started dating a girl at the end of last semester, and because we spent our summers far apart I hadn't met her parents yet. Naturally, I figured it would be a good idea to surprise her and meet her family all in one shot. She was under the impression that I wasn't going to be back until the start of the semester, so I just had to call her parents and set the visit up. It went really well. I arrived at her house at 7:30 in the morning before she was out of bed. Her parents were getting ready to have breakfast, so I decided to just sit down and eat with them. A few minutes into breakfast, she walked down the stairs and pretty well flipped out. Her expression honestly made the whole drive to Ohio worthwhile. She was ticked at me for a while, but she got over it.

I am back in class now, and I am as busy as usual. It has been great to see all of my friends again as well as meet the new students on campus. For those of you who don't know, I am starting my Junior year at Taylor University where I have been studying computer engineering. The engineering classes this semester are very challenging for me after a summer of forgetting what the terms "differential equation" and "Laplace transform" even mean, but I think that things will ease up as those memories come back to me.
